On my not so short list of great country songs, Travis Tritt’s “Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)” tends to trend pretty close to the top.
And although, I’m probably going to have to explain to my kids some day why the hell Travis was giving some lady a quarter for a phone call, the song has still aged incredibly well. I mean, is there anything more timeless than a good “fuck you” song? I don’t think so.
Anyways, in Kelly Clarkson’s “Kellyoke” segment of The Kelly Clarkson Show, she’s been delivering great cover after great cover. She’s done “Strawberry Wine,” “I Hope You Dance,” and many more, but in a recent episode, Kelly tipped her cap to the great Travis Tritt with a knockout cover of the 1991 classic we all know and love.
And I mean, she CRUSHED it.
