If you are looking for young, generational talent in the country music world, look no further than Jake Kohn.

Though he’s just 16-years-old, his voice and musical talent is well beyond his years. His path to country music fame is similar to that of Oliver Anthony, with his single “Frostbite” being getting showcased on RadioWV.

His raw, powerful vocals in the song show that he deserves a seat at the country music table:

It would be easy to say that this year has been a whirlwind for Kohn, who made his Red Barn Radio debut back in June, and then got invited to country music’s most famous stage at the Grand Ole Opry.

What were you doing at 16-years of age?

So last night, Jake Kohn walked into the historic home of country music to make his debut, fulfilling a country musician’s dream before he even gets out of his teenage years.

He’s definitely one of the youngest performers to ever grace the circle, though you wouldn’t be able to tell by his strong, emotional performance of his hit song:

Seems like Jake was pretty comfortable up on the Grand Ole Opry stage…

He was also feeling right at home backstage, where he was surprised with an opportunity of a lifetime. While at the Opry, Kohn signed a record deal backstage with Atlantic Records, who decided to lock in the talented country music artist for the foreseeable future.

We were there to speak with him about his exciting deal with the historic record label, who currently represents some of the biggest names in music. Kohn was clearly excited to get the deal done and solidify his place in the music industry:

“I just signed a record deal with Atlantic Records backstage…It’s pretty cool.

I’ve been working on this for a while. It’s been a process to get to tonight and sign.”
