And let me introduce you to the luckiest man in the world…
If you haven’t heard of Olivia Dunne, first of all, what are you even doing? But second, let me give you a quick rundown.
She’s a gymnast at LSU who is arguably the biggest TikTok athlete/influencer on the planet right now, boasting a whopping 7.7 million followers on TikTok, and another 4.3 million on Instagram.
In fact, her popularity has gotten so crazy, that the LSU gymnastics team has to travel with a security guard just so Dunne doesn’t get swamped by fans out in public, as the men want to date her, and the women want to be her.
But speaking of men wanting to date her, I hate to inform all you guys out there that legitimately thought you stood a chance that Livvy Dunne is officially off the market.
And who is the lucky guy, you may ask?
No, he’s not a famed actor, athlete, or influencer for that matter…
He’s minor league baseball player Paul Skenes.
Okay, okay, Skenes isn’t just SOME minor league baseball player. He was a stud pitcher at LSU, and was drafted with the first overall pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates organization. He’s been labeled by some as the best pitching prospect coming out of college since Stephen Strasburg.
Got a nice dad stache too….
Eyebrows began to raise when Dunne announced she was crushing one someone in a TikTok back in February, and she began to frequently attend LSU baseball games this past spring.
And now that Skenes is officially a pro, the cat is out of the bag.
Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette was the first to drop the news, writing:
“The prized pitching prospect is probably only the second-most popular person in his current relationship. His girlfriend, LSU gymnast and social media sensation Livvy Dunne, has 12 million followers on TikTok and Instagram combined.”
Skenes also discussed the relationship to the outlet:
“It’s nice, for sure. It can be a pain in the butt sometimes, to be honest, in terms of actually going somewhere. If one of us went out in Baton Rouge by ourselves, there’s probably gonna be someone there asking for something… picture, autograph, whatever.
It’s nice to be able to have that conversation. She does get it. I do wish she could come to a baseball game and just enjoy it. It does irk me. I don’t have any control over it. She really doesn’t either.
I’m sure it’ll get better as I go up levels, but that’s something I want for her.”
Hence, her hiding in a suite by herself:
He also added that the two began dating after his friend started dating LSU gymnast Elena Marenas.
He also noted that he doesn’t have any social media apps on his phone to stay away from the craziness, and he tried to convince Livvy to do the same:
“It’s worse for her. I’ve told her, ‘People are gonna write about you. People are gonna write about me.
If it rattles you, if it makes you upset, you gotta find a way to either not see it or not get upset over it.’ In my mind, it’s a lot easier to not see it than not get upset over it.”
