Talk about insult to injury.

Back in early May, we were hit with the news that Yellowstone star Kevin Costner’s wife, Christine Baumgartner, was filing for divorce after 18 years of marriage.

Costner was allegedly blindsided by the move as well, as a friend of Costner told Page Six:

“Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back.

It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children.”

As to what might have lead to the divorce filing, the friend of Costner added:

“I have no idea if Kevin even knows what the reasons are.”

Baumgartner is Costner’s second marriage, and they share three children together, Cayden (16), Hayes (14), and daughter Grace (13).

Many speculated that Costner’s busy schedule may have played a role in Baumgartner’s decision, and there was a wild rumor that Costner had gotten a woman within the cast and crew of Yellowstone pregnant, but those rumors were quickly shot down.

So, now the messy part of the divorce has arrived, as Costner and Baumgartner sort out child support pay.

According to People, Baumgartner is reportedly asking for a whopping $248,000 a month to support their three children.

SHEESH. That’s a lot of money – amounting to nearly $3 million per year.

In the filing, Christine says the figure:

“is less than the amount needed to maintain the children in their accustomed lifestyle”

She’s also requesting that Costner pay 100% for their private school tuition, extracurricular activities/sports, and health-care expenses for the three.

In the documents, Costner’s 2022 income was listed at $19,517,641, and their family expenses (taxes aside) were $6,645,285. The net income after taxes was $7,595,520.

Needless to say, if the request of $248,000 per month goes through, that’s gonna put a bit of a hurtin’ on Costner’s bank account.

Costner Lists His Massive Aspen Ranch For Rent For $36,000 Per NIGHT

Records show that Costner made it a priority to maintain his access to his separate residences in the event of a divorce. A previous marriage that the Yellowstone star was in ended with him being removed from his own place of residence, which prompted Costner to never want that to happen to him again.

And it looks like he could choose to live in his sprawling Aspen, Colorado estate if it wasn’t still up for rent for $36,000 dollars a night.

Costner listed the 160-acre property in January, and the home, along with its land and location, is quite impressive.

The Aspen mansion’s 6,000 square feet features 12 bedrooms and eight bathrooms and is located just 10 minutes from downtown Aspen. The estate has been dubbed the “Dunbar Ranch” and is without a doubt fit for a movie star, or someone that can afford to fork over $36K a night

The property features the main residence, a lake house and a river house, along with caretakers on the site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It also includes a baseball field, three hot tubs, and a sledding hill. The massive property can comfortably house 27 people at once.
