“I Didn’t Like The Way It Affected My Kids” – Tom Brady Says Roast Was Fun But He Wouldn’t Do It Again

Tom Brady Roast

Don’t hold your breath waiting on the sequel to The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.

From how Tom Brady himself has talked about the event since it happened, he might have a little bit of regret signing up to get roasted for three hours. The former NFL quarterback (who could return to football at any moment) was on The Pivot Podcast recently, and it was during the interview that the seven-time Super Bowl winner was asked how he felt about and what he learned from the roast.

Brady was happy to be transparent on the subject, and voiced that though he did enjoy the event itself, he wasn’t happy with some of the moments where his family (mainly his ex-wife) were the butt of the joke:

“I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way it affected my kids. So it’s the hardest part about… the bittersweet aspect of when you do something you think is one way and then you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way it affected the people that I care about the most.”

There you have it. Netflix can go ahead and cancel the plans, if they had any, for another Tom Brady roast. Just like how Brady finished up his NFL career, he found out that he couldn’t take all of the hits and decided to get out of the game.

Then again, when do you ever roast someone twice? You don’t…

But it wasn’t a total loss in Brady’s mind. Just like in his playing career, even if he wasn’t happy with how things went, Tom figured out what he can take away from the roast to be a better person moving forward:

“It makes you, in some ways, a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naive. When I signed up for that, I loved when people were making fun of me.

I just want to laugh, so I wanted to do the roast. You don’t see the full picture all of the time. I think it’s a good lesson for me as a parent. I’m gonna be a better parent as I go forward because of it.

And at the same time, I’m happy everyone who was there had a lot of fun. We should have more fun.”

That’s right, we should have more fun! Just have fun without bringing Tom Brady’s family into it. Had he never seen a roast before he agreed to do it? That’s kind of what it’s all about… nothing is off limits.
