Charles Barkley Calls Out People Bashing Golfers For Joining The LIV Tour: “I Don’t Like Selective Outrage”

Charles BArkley

Charles Barkley is at it again.

The famed NBA forward has never shied away from speaking his mind, whether it was during his basketball career, or his current gig as an NBA analyst for TNT… even if it’s about politics.

He even voiced his opinion about the whole “classified documents” issue going on with President Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and former Vice President Mike Pence while on air:

“You sound like these fools in Washington DC. Worried about papers at Trump’s house, Biden’s house, or Pence’s house, like they’re about to sell them to the Russians or something.

Man, shut the hell up. Shut the hell up.

President Biden and Vice President Pence, and crazy Trump are not gonna sell nuclear secrets to somebody, stop wasting our time Congress.”

With that being said, he’s voicing his strong opinions once again, and this time it’s about the highly controversial LIV Golf Tour.

The LIV Tour is a Saudi Arabia backed professional golf tour, which was founded back in 2021.

The tour has been offering mind boggling amounts of money to some of the best PGA Tour players, and convinced a number of stars like Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, Bryson DeChambeau, Cameron Smith, and more to join.

The tour is highly controversial, considering the human rights issues that have gone on in Saudi Arabia over the years, like the killing and dismemberment of journalist Jamal Khashoggi back in 2018.

Although there have been a ton of complaints against the tour, along with the players who decided to join it, Barkley isn’t having any of it.

In an interview with Outkick’s Clay Travis, Barkley backed up the golfers who decided to join the LIV Tour:

“Some of this LIV stuff has really pissed me off to be honest with you, because people are saying ‘sportswashing,’ ‘blood money.’ First of all, these guys have the right to make money any way they want to.

But reading some of these other articles, I said ‘Well wait a minute, you guys don’t even give a sh*t about sh*t that’s happening in the United States, and all of a sudden y’all are worried about what’s happening in Saudi Arabia? I don’t like selective outrage.

As you grab your iPhone that’s made in China, this notion that I’m gonna have this moral high ground and like, ‘Well I’m not taking money from anybody,’ I’m like ‘you’re selective in what you’re mad about.’

That’s probably the only time I really got mad recently.”
