The infamy of ole Bobby Ritchie seems to grow by the day.
Better known by Kid Rock, the stories of his wild life are almost too crazy to believe.
There’s the time he and none other than country music legend Loretta Lynn got spontaneously married, his drunken rant against Oprah, Joe Rogan’s description of his party house he calls home, and that doesn’t even scrape the surface.
Somehow in all of this madness, I forgot he married pretty much everyone’s childhood crush, and favorite Baywatch babe, the beautiful Pamela Anderson, back in 2006.
Pamela Anderson has been in the news quite a bit recently as some stories from her recently released memoir, Love, Pamela, started getting to the public, the biggest of which was her memory of Tim Allen flashing her on the set of Home Improvement in 1991.
Well, now another story is gaining some traction, and this time it involves Mr. Kid Rock himself.
The two got married in August of 2006, but like most celebrity marriages, it didn’t last long, due in major part to a public argument they had over Pam’s cameo in Borat, while the two of them were at the movie’s premier.
According to Pam, she didn’t tell him about her role the movie so she could surprise him, but happened to forget a detail in the film that ended up being the beginning of the end.
“I didn’t tell Bob I was in the movie because I wanted to surprise him… I forgot about the part in the film that referenced the sex tape.”
If you aren’t aware, a sex tape of her and then husband Tommy Lee, drummer of legendary rock band Mötley Crüe, was leaked to the public back in 1995, something which she was mortified by, and still haunts her to this day.
Well, Kid Rock didn’t take to well to this reference, but instead of being mad at the writers, took it out on his wife and stormed out of the premiere:
“Bob stormed out, calling me a whore and worse. He was embarrassed, and his reaction was not thought through.
After I chased Bob to his car, he peeled out, leaving me there alone. I turned back and apologized, then asked if anyone could give me a ride home.”
While I kinda, sorta understand why he would be upset, but it’s not like Bob didn’t know what he was getting himself into… Pam was a superstar at that point, starring in Baywatch and being a cover girl for Playboy, plus, let’s be honest news of the sex tape was everywhere.
Well, he didn’t cool off by the time he got home either, because when Pam arrived at the house, she found him destroying her stuff, including a picture he thought was of her and another man, but apparently he was mistaken.
“When I walked in, Bob was smashing a photo on the wall. He said he was sick of waking up to a picture of me and photographer David LaChapelle every day, but it wasn’t me and David… it was Marilyn Monroe and photographer Bert Stern.
Marilyn Monroe, your wife, hey… easy mistake.
Anyway, the marriage didn’t last much longer, as the two split up in November of 2006, less than 4 months after tying the knot.
“We broke up. I didn’t stay in touch with Bob.”
Just another of those celebrity stories that leaves you scratching your head…
In a separate altercation, Kid Rock and Tommy Lee got into a fight at the MTV VMAs a few years later, after Tommy whistled at her as she walked on stage as the presenter.
