I will forever be on a quest to ensure that “Love” gets the credit it deserves.

And I guess it finally is, as it was just certified Gold by the RIAA, which means it has moved over 500,000 units since it was released in 2016.

Koe Wetzel’s song, which features Parker McCollum and was included on the tracklist for Koe’s 2016 album Noise Complaint, has been a fan-favorite for a long time, so it’s cool to see it earning a certification like this:

Koe will typically play the deep cut at his live shows, and Parker too from time to time, but it’s hard to find much video of them actually singing the duet together in one place.

There is one video, though, from back in 2018, where Koe even let the crowd in on a little bit of the inspiration behind the deep and brooding tune, saying:

“Me and Parker wrote this song about a stripper from San Angelo, Texas.”

There ya have it, folks. It really is that simple…

Koe dropped his fifth studio album Hell Paso in September and has plans to start working on a full-blown country album early next year, and Parker is headed out on his 2023 headlining tour which is set to kick off in May, in addition to opening shows on Morgan Wallen’s world tour.

I’ll have this one on repeat for the rest of the day now…
