Is there anybody in country music that can do ’90s country like Jon Pardi does?
He recently released his deluxe Heartache Medication record, but right before that he dropped his surprise Rancho Fiesta Sessions, an 8-song cover album featuring Dwight Yoakam, Keith Whitley, Joe Diffie, George Strait’s “Marina del Rey” and more.
And while I still think Pardi does George Strait as well as anybody, for my money, his cover of Joe Diffie’s “Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox (If I Die)” was one of the best on the record.
Jon recently got the boys together and took it back to his shop for another live performance of the 1993 country classic, and you know somewhere, Joe is smiling down on this one.
Jon also delivered a knockout tribute performance to Joe during the CMA Awards last month.
