When it comes to country music records, whether it’s on the charts, sales records, streaming records or some combination of all of the above… Luke Combs has owned the country music world this past year.
Luke obliterated Garth’s record for number of singles on the chart at one time, set the record for 8 straight #1 singles, his deluxe album smashed all kinds of streaming records in the country format, he tied Shania for most weeks with an album at #1, and he ended up preventing himself from taking sole possession of that record with the release of another album.
Luke has been an absolute runaway freight train of momentum, but there’s another artist on the horizon that’s on his way to putting up these Luke Combs numbers…
According to Rolling Stone, Morgan just topped Apple’s Pre-Add chart, marking Dangerous the most pre-added country album of all time. Morgan overtakes Luke Combs, the previous record holder. And while Luke currently holds the records for most first day and first week streams, if the pre-adds are any indication, Morgan has a good chance of breaking those as well.
In addition to deeply personal “Livin’ The Dream,” Morgan recently dropped “Still Goin Down” and “Somebody’s Problem,” both of which debuted in the Top 10 on Billboard’s Hot Country chart… another country record.
Next stop… the moon.
