Jon Pardi Replaces Morgan Wallen At Charleston Country Music Fest

Welp, scratch another concert date for Morgan Wallen.

After Morgan Wallen’s Tuscaloosa shenanigans, AKA partying with some Bama girls while the Crimson Tide put a whoopin’ on Texas A&M, Morgan Wallen was subsequently removed from his coveted spot on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. (If you missed it, Bill Burr was incredible).

Now normally, it wouldn’t be a big deal for a rising country superstar to party like the rising country superstar that he is, but we’re living in strange times, global pandemic kind of strange times, and you gotta be safe and responsible if you want to play big gigs.

Morgan issued an apology and vowed to take a little time away from the spotlight, and right now, that also includes his appearance at Charleston Country Music Fest at the end of the month.

Morgan was initially set to headline alongside Riley Green, with other performances from Hardy, Ashland Craft, Mitchell Tenpenny and  Tyler Braden. And let’s be honest, with live music coming at a premium this year, folks were pumped to see some live music, especially after the kind of year Morgan has been having.

But now, as we were so graciously alerted to by our loyal Whiskey Riffers down in the DMs… Jon Pardi has taken his place.

And while one fan mentioned that Jon was a “nice alternative” on Instagram, some others were not happy about the late switch:

“So are you offering tickets for a future Morgan Wallen show? Because I spent a lot of money on these.”

“I know y’all are going to give us some kind of money back for the line up being changed?”

“At least Hardy is still playing damn!”

Either way, it sounds like Morgan will be taking some time off for the foreseeable future, although who knows how much will be really goin’ on for the rest of the year anyways.

Morgan received support from Miranda Lambert, SNL executive producer Lorne Michaels and plenty of others. There’s no doubt, he’ll be back soon and 2021 will be a big year for him.

Stay tuned.
