Holy sh*t.
Round 2 of Spring Training is underway as teams prepare for the shortened MLB season, and we already have an injury that could have been devastating.
In the Bronx, pitcher Masahiro Tanaka took a VICIOUS line drive to the head from Giancarlo Stanton during a simulated game.
The Yankees said he was “alert, responsive and walking under his own power” after being evaluated at the hospital.
Scary stuff, especially coming off the bat from a guy that can hit it as hard as anyone on the planet.

Leaving the field.
Tanaka is now gingerly walking off the field with assistance from the #Yankees training staff. That was really a scary moment. pic.twitter.com/FGMGasjGfB

Here was an update from Tanaka.
I appreciate all the support. I feel it a bit right now, but I’m all good. Going to try to get back on the mound ASAP! Thanks again for all the encouraging words!
