Bud Light Is Ready To Challenge White Claw For The Hard Seltzer Heavyweight Title

Bug Light has entered the chat.

Amid the devastating White Claw shortage of 2019, beer behemoth Anheuser-Busch has finally decided to call in the big guns and officially release their very own Bud Light Seltzer.

“Seltzer has brought excitement to the entire category and brought consumers back to beer,” said Andy Goeler, Bud Light’s vice president of marketing in a press release. “We are looking forward to leveraging the power of the Bud Light brand to help grow the category.”

Originally rumored to be called Bud Light Crisp, they opted to keep it simple with Bud Light Seltzer, a 5% ABV, 100 calorie hard seltzer that comes in Black Cherry, Lemon Lime, Mango and Strawberry flavors. It’s set to hit shelves sometime in early 2020 and the price should fall somewhere between their Natty Light line and their Bon & Viv brand.

Now, all they have to do is compete with White Claw, Truly, Smirnoff, Natty Light, Bon & Viv, PBR Stronger Selzter, and the 12% ABV death sentence in a can known as Four Loko Seltzer, not to mention the hundreds of others that are on the market.

White Claw is shaking in their boots, or boat shoes… or whatever the hell kind of shoes they wear.
