Don’t try to tell this guys about the odds.
For the uninitiated, the boat ramp is where the pros and amateurs are separated. It’s all fun and games once you get out on the water, but first, you have to tackle the beast that is a subtly sloped slab of concrete into the water. As simple as the process seems, it can puzzle even the sharpest of mortals.
We saw plenty of examples of the boat ramp getting the best of boaters this summer. There was one video of a guy who completely jackknifed his trailer backing down and just kept going, and who could forget the Florida man who tried to replace the trailer wench with… himself, and that went about as well as you’d imagine.
Those were scenarios where the boat ramp outsmarted the boater, but in the video below, we finally see a man that went against the grain at the ramp and actually came out of it okay. Typically you’d use a truck, or another larger vehicle hooked up to a trailer to get a boat out of the water. But what if I told you there was another, smaller vehicle that apparently has the power to pull a boat trailer?
I almost feel like there should be a “Don’t try this at home” disclaimer with this clip, which shows a guy using his personal electric scooter that’s somehow hooked up to the trailer to pull the boat out of the water. Whatever company produces this scooter needs to track this guy down and make him a spokesman… because this is truly incredible. And just goes to show how handy – and powerful – these scooters can be.
But isn’t this kind of what fishing is all about? By any means necessary? Whatever it takes to get out on the water and wet a line? Nothing but love of the game… you gotta love it:
