Luke Combs bagged-and-tagged himself a beauty of a 10-pointer last December, and the video of his Iowa hunt was recently posted so that all of his fans could see exactly how it all went down.

There are plenty of country stars out there that love to hunt. Cody Johnson has proudly shared photos of some of the beasts he’s brought down, as has Chase Rice. But of all the artists that like to get themselves out in the great outdoors, the one that is always nice enough to get his big hunts on video is Luke Combs.

The “Be By You” singer seems to really like hunting white-tail deer in Iowa, and when you watch this video below, it’s easy to see why. For one, the place is crawling with big bucks. And two, he’s got one heck of a connection out in the “Hawkeye State.” The country music star was once again accompanied by accomplished hunter and outdoors personality Mark Drury, and the hunt was captured on video and shared through his Drury Outdoors social media page.

Footage from December of last year began with Combs wanting to get the gun he was using dialed in prior to the hunt. Following that, Drury led the way and took the country singer to certain spots on his property that he felt would give them the best chance to bag a monster buck.

At the first place Drury and Combs set up, they saw over 30 deer in a matter of hours. In one of the later hunts, Luke was eager to take a shot at couple of 4-year-old bucks that walked out within range, but Drury said neither was a “target buck,” and told him to hold off.

Finally, the location, weather, and deer all aligned in the last hunt of the trip. The wait ended up being well worth it, because a big 10-pointer came strolling out.

At first, Combs couldn’t take the shot because a doe was standing directly behind the monster buck. That led the country star to ask for the green light a handful of times. Drury didn’t give the go-ahead until the 10-pointer moved away from the female… and once it did, Combs took the shot

You can see how it all plays out in the video below:

“The first hunt was a great one, with plenty of deer on their feet, but unfortunately, nothing of the right age class stepped into range. A few nights later, the weather warmed up and the deer movement was excellent.

It didn’t take long for one of the mature bucks to make an appearance, and Luke was fortunate enough to punch his tag on a GIANT Iowa buck! It’s always a pleasure having Luke in camp and getting to spend time in the woods with him.”

Luke Combs can do it all.

It certainly helps when you’ve got a hunting guide like Mark Drury. But it’s clear to see that deer hunting is one of Combs’ many passions. Something tells me he’s going to have a hard time topping that 10-pointer… but this coming season, he’s sure gonna try.
