‘Sunday Night Football’ Returns With Carrie Underwood Kicking Things Off Last Night

Carrie Underwood always brings it for Sunday Night Football.

And this year is no exception.

Last night, she helped kick off (pun very much intended) NBC’s 2022 NFL season of SNF, as she returned to TV screens across America for the 10th year in a row to sing the opening song “Waiting All Day For Sunday Night.”

The video starts off with Carrie walking out to sing to the crowd, in between shots of (now injured) Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott, Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady, and Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, and many other players from both teams on the field in action last year.

Per the usual with the SNF opener, which they revamped some last year, the video itself will look a bit different each weekend depending on the game’s location and what the matchup is. In addition, the lyrics will change slightly depending on the teams featured that week, as well.

Last night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers put a pretty good beating on the Dallas Cowboys, who were playing at home AT&T stadium, coming away with a 19-3 victory to start their season in the W column.

And look away Cowboys fans reading this, because that’s now Tom’s 7th straight victory against the Cowboys, as he’s still undefeated against them in his career (including games when he played for the New England Patriots).

And of course, Faith Hill was the SNF girl for many years, but I’ve loved seeing Carrie step up and carry on the torch over the last decade. If anyone is on Faith’s level in terms of vocal ability, it’s Carrie Underwood.

Here’s Carrie absolutely crushing it and welcoming football back into our lives again… a beautiful sight to see:
