Watch The Turnpike Troubadours Perform “Good Lord Lorrie,” “Long Hot Summer Day,” & More At Ryman Auditorium Debut

Turnpike troubadours

I’ll never forget the moment my perspective on independent country music changed, when I discovered the Turnpike Troubadours for the first time.

I was listening to one of my buddy’s Spotify playlists, when all of a sudden “7&7” by the group came on, and from the first guitar riff, I was hooked.

That led to listening to “Good Lord Lorrie” right after, and then “Long Hot Summer Day” after that, and it kept getting better and better, and I knew that this was a bucket list band to see in concert from that day forward.

With that being said, I am incredibly jealous of those who were lucky enough to watch Turnpike at the Mother Church of country music, the Ryman Auditorium, this past weekend.

There’s simply something about the atmosphere at the Ryman that feels borderline spiritual, and then throw in arguably the greatest country music band in the business.

I think I would’ve been 100% content if the Good Lord called me home right after.

Lucky for us, the dependable Taylor Hendrix was at home in the front row and did us all a favor by filming the band playing “Good Lord Lorrie,” “Long Hot Summer Day,” and more during Saturday’s concert, and although this isn’t quite as nice as getting to see them live and in person, it’s pretty damn close.
