Zach Bryan Drops “Highway Boys” And All Is Right In The World

Samuel Elkins

“And do my best to keep truth in songs…”

Can I get an amen?

I mean, Zach Bryan dropped this song 28 minutes ago (at the time of this blog) and I think I’ve already listened to it eight times.

The second release from his highly-anticipated debut studio album, American Heartbreak, “Highway Boys” kicks off with that gorgeous fiddle in the intro, and right from the beginning you’re hooked.

Seemingly a tale of this wild new musical journey that he’s on, “Highway Boys” finds Zach on the road, chasing this musical dream, and having success doing it, but he also seems to caution himself in a way, a reminder not to stray too far outside of himself. Make sure to keep that internal compass pointing true north, so to speak.

Here’s a little taste of the chorus:

“I wanna ride that K10 to way back when
Sleep next to the river hear it rushing again
Get my no-good soul back to where it belongs
And do my best to keep truth in songs
And do my best to keep truth in songs.”

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… every day until it arrives… is it May 20th yet?
