This one really stung.
Yesterday Wes wrote about Alex Trebek’s tragic passing, and how we’d go to this dive bar near our office to watch Jeopardy! with the older folks as we threw back some skunky beers. Such great times, and so many memories watching this show throughout my life.
After news of his death broke, many viral clips began recirculating.
There was this tearjerker.
And also one of his most “savage” moments.
Taken on October 12, 2016, the video shows a contestant explain “Nerdcore hip-hop” (don’t ask).
“It’s people who identify as nerdy rapping about the things they love: video games, science fiction, having a hard time meeting romantic partners,” contestant Susan Cole explained.
That’s when Trebek drops the epic burn.
“Losers, in other words.”
The video has racked up millions and millions of views across platforms, with many people reminding the offended that Alex says he’s just kidding and messing around after the video ends.
