The United States Senate Homeland Security & Governmental Affairs Committee held a fiery hearing today featuring Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was subpoenaed to testify on his actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recently, committee chairman Rand Paul, the US Senator from Kentucky, has released thousands of entries from Fauci’s diary, which was kept on a government computer, that have called into question his recommendations and actions as he advised the government on the response to the pandemic back in 2020. In one entry, dated January 26, 2020, Fauci admits that the infamous Wuhan wet market “was not the source” of the virus, while going on television the next day and saying that it was.

It was also clear that Fauci, who at the time was the longtime director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), was a BIG fan of…himself, and all the press coverage that he was getting. The doctor wrote several entries bragging about his newfound fame:

“Big front page article abut me appeared in the Washington Post. Very flattering. The situation with my national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable. It is not hyperbole to say that today I am the most famous and talked about person in the country and one of the most recognizable peson in the world.”

He also wrote about having dinner at CNN anchor Jake Tapper’s house in October of 2020, at a time when the government was continuing to advise against contact with those outside of your household. (Remember the ridiculous guidelines for Thanksgiving that year when we were told to eat outside and limit the number of people who were invited?)

Fauci ultimately retired from his position in December 2022, and was given a blanket pardon by President Joe Biden on the final day of his term that covered Fauci’s actions from January 1, 2014 to January 19, 2025.

But despite being shielded from criminal prosecution, Fauci still refused to testify today and instead would only invoke his Fifth Amendment right to remain silent. (I’m sure he was advised that if he didn’t testify truthfully he could be charged with perjury, since his pardon only covers up to January 2025…)

Despite the lack of answers from Fauci, the hearing still got fiery at times, like when Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno asked Fauci “who the f—” he thinks he is after recalling the story of a mom from his state who was arrested for not wearing a mask at a football game:

And early in the hearing, Paul even had Fauci’s attorney removed from the room after he repeatedly kept trying to speak:

But those weren’t the only fireworks during the hearing – because despite the lack of answers from Fauci, one Senate staffer still gave people a reason to tune in.

As the hearing went on, viewers began to take notice of the blonde staffer seated behind Paul:

Well it didn’t take long for the internet to track down the blonde bombshell, who was identified as Rand Paul staffer Kelsey Cooper.

Cooper currently serves as Deputy Chief of Staff, and according to LinkedIn has worked for the senator from Kentucky since 2015.

Overall, the hearing was kind of a bust, though Paul did announce that he plans to ask the Senate to hold Fauci in contempt for his failure to answer questions during the hearing.

But at least it wasn’t a total bust, thanks to the blonde staffer conveniently positioned right behind the committee chairman.
