It didn’t take Aaron Rodgers long to learn the old phrase “Happy wife, happy life.”
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is 42-years-old, and will turn 43 during this upcoming NFL season. The longtime Packers star has already let the world know that this year will be his swan song. He’ll suit up for one more season, and then he’ll ride off into the sunset with his wife, Brittani.
He and his significant other tied the knot in 2025, and in 2026, se’s still an unknown figure and has yet to be seen. The quarterback got married shortly before June last year, and ever since that news broke, he’s kept his love life under wraps. That’s respectable… but the way he’s gone about it has inadvertently ramped up media interest that much more.
Rodgers has told the media that he met his wife in 2017, and the Steelers QB described her as “not a public person,” and that she never wished to be a football player’s wife. He also shared that she was living across the pond at one point before they got married… and that’s basically all we know about her (other than when she got married to Aaron Rodgers).
Now, we also know that she played a role in Rodgers deciding to put on the pads for one more season. During time with the media today, the Super Bowl-winning QB was asked what led him to come back for one last hoorah. Rodgers said that a lot of things had to line up, like his old coach from Green Bay getting the head coaching job in Pittsburgh.
But above everything else, it was Rodgers’ wife, Brittani, who apparently pushed him – or rather gave him permission to – play one more year of NFL football before hanging it up for good:
“I thought last year might be it, and then Mike got hired. I talked to the wife, and she said, ‘You can do one more year and see if it works out.’ And then it kind of all came together.”
Talking to your wife about whether or not you should continue playing in the NFL… that’s something Tom Brady doesn’t know much about, eh? Brady might have the upper hand on Rodgers when it comes to Super Bowl rings, but Rodgers still has a ring on his finger (if you catch my drift).
While the Steelers QB was at the podium, he was also asked if there would be any debate about this being his last year. A teammate suggested that he might just be saying that, and the reporter asked if not getting hit as much, or playing well, could change his mind. Aaron quickly shut down the idea of him playing football past the 2026-27 season:
“No. Zero debate.”
There you have it. Aaron Rodgers fans better soak up this upcoming year of football. This is it for the gunslinger, and his wife Brittani deserves a shoutout. It sounds like he was considering retirement after last year, and she gave a push to her hubby to go out and do his thing for one more, farewell season.
