Coors Light “Case Of The Mondays” Super Bowl Commercial Perfectly Captures The Monday After The Big Game

Bravo Coors Light… I’ve never seen a more relatable commercial in my life.

We’re closing in on the Super Bowl, which means we’ll all be treated to a plethora of new and hopefully funny commercials. Many companies, like Uber Eats and Bud Light, have already begun to roll out their “Big Game” commercials. Other brands like Dunkin’ have put out teasers hinting at what they’ll actually debut when everyone is watching the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

It’s always interesting to see what all of these commercials focus in on. After all, just because the ad spot is airing during the Super Bowl doesn’t mean it has to be related to the NFL’s conclusion to its postseason. However, sometimes you’ll see companies lean into the “Big Game” and come up with an idea that both promotes their brand and ties in with the football game at hand.

Coors Light did just that with their advertisement this year, and it’s one of the better ideas and executions of said idea I can remember. The premise is simple: everyone hates the Monday after the Super Bowl.

Studies conducted in the past couple of years estimate that employers lose between $4 billion and $6 billion dollars in productivity because of the dreaded “Super Bowl Hangover.” People often spend all day leading up to the game and all night while the Super Bowl is on consuming staggering amounts of calories and deleting beers and other various alcoholic beverages… and then they are just supposed to go to work the next day?

Most employees either mail it in on that day, or just don’t show up at all.

It’s a travesty really, and Coors Light decided to tackle that topic by turning everyone into sloths. That’s how we all feel anyways, right? They’re describing that day-after-the-Super-Bowl feeling as a “Case of the Mondays,” and they’re also rolling out limited special packaging on select cases that change the name of their beer from “Coors Light” to “Mondays Light.”

Get it? A Case of the Mondays?

That commercial right there will be a live look at me on the Monday after the Super Bowl.

While we’re on the topic, what happened to the idea of making the Monday after the Super Bowl a national holiday? Or even changing “Super Bowl Sunday” to “Super Bowl Saturday?” You know who would be on board for either of those ideas? Every single person on the planet.

There might even be some aliens off in deep space that have figured out how to tap into the Super Bowl broadcast and watch the “Big Game” that would prefer for it to happen a little earlier.  It just makes too much sense, which is probably why it will never happen.

There is absolutely nothing worse than the Monday after the Super Bowl. Everyone is worthless and bloated from the Super Bowl parties the night before, and if you are like me, you’re dealing with the crushing weight of sadness that is brought on by football being over and not returning for seven months.

Maybe this sloth commercial from Coors Light can get the ball rolling on moving the Super Bowl up a day, or giving everyone the Monday after off…
