Is part two coming soon?
It’s not often you see an artist, duo or group release two separate albums in a single year, but that’s exactly what Muscadine Bloodline did in 2025. In addition to their follow-up to 2024’s The Coastal Plain, April’s …And What Was Left Behind, the Alabama duo added to their fast-growing discography with the surprise release of Longleaf Lo-Fi, a stripped-back acoustic album, to close the year in November.
Undeniably, it would already be impressive to produce two albums in the same year that are as good as the aforementioned …And What Was Left Behind and Longleaf Lo-Fi. With that being said, however, it becomes even more impressive when you look at just how busy the duo, comprised of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, truly were throughout the entirety of 2025, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down this year as well.
Back in March, they announced that they had finished recording their sixth studio album, calling the project “a whole different beast.” Additionally, they’ve been teaming up with the Red Dirt legends themselves, Turnpike Troubadours, serving as direct support throughout their stretch of summer shows.
Simply put, Muscadine fans have been eating well lately. With that being said, however, they’ve been desperate for the return of a particular project. That project is none other than Teenage Angst, their four-song EP from 2023, which featured other covers of punk classics such as “Jamie All Over” by Mayday Parade, “Only One” by Yellowcard, “Adam’s Song” by blink-182 and “Hear You Me” by Jimmy Eat World.
Of course, their venture into the punk world wasn’t limited to just the short EP. Over the years, they’ve also teamed up with Drayton Farley for a cover of A Day to Remember’s “Have Faith In Me” and included The Story So Far’s “Clairvoyant” last year on the aforementioned Longleaf Lo-Fi.
As previously mentioned, fans (myself included) have absolutely loved whenever Muscadine puts their spin on these classic emo tracks, and they’re convinced that the Alabama duo is gearing up for another round of covers incredibly soon.
If you’ve been paying attention to their Instagram posts as of late, you may have noticed they’ve been dropping acoustic covers of 2000s punk tracks lately, posting the likes of “Ohio Is for Lovers” by Hawthorne Heights, “MakeDamnSure” by Taking Back Sunday and “Dear Maria Count Me In” by All Time Low — all within the past month.
Yesterday, they’d fan the flames even more by posting “Ohio Is For Lovers,” and fans became even more adamant that Muncaster and Stanton were planning to run it back.
Unsurprisingly, their comment section in each video has been flooded with fans all but begging for the release of Teenage Angst Part Two and dropping a ton of different suggestions on which song they should cover next.
Keeping up with the theme, here are five songs that I think would be a perfect fit if Muscadine ever pulls the trigger on Teenage Angst Part Two.
1. “Dear Maria, Count Me In” – All Time Low
In my opinion, “Dear Maria, Count Me In” is the quintessential pop punk song, complete with a soaring chorus, an iconic vocal performance by Alex Gaskarth and an infectious melody throughout. With that being said, Muscadine slows it down and gives it a completely different feel on their cover posted last month. Simply put, it would be a disservice not to hear the complete version of their rendition.
2. “Cute Without The E” – Taking Back Sunday
As one of the top-liked comments on the aforementioned “Dear Maria, Count Me In” post, Taking Back Sunday’s “Cute Without The E” would be a no-brainer for the Alabama duo. Given how distinct the dual vocals are on the track, Gary and Charlie would absolutely crush this song.
3. “Tears Over Beers” – Modern Baseball
This one’s a bit of an unconventional pick, but hear me out.
Unlike a majority of their past punk covers, “Tears Over Beers” by Modern Baseball exists in an acoustic-first subgenre of emo known as “Midwest Emo.” As many have pointed out in the past, there’s a plethora of emo songs that lyrically could fit directly into country music with different production, and “Tears Over Beers” is one of the best examples of this. Don’t believe me? Take a look at its final chorus.
“I said, “All I can hope for is for you to get better‘Cause all I can take is no moreSo I’ll hide where I canAway from you and your friendsLeaking tears over beers once again'”
That’s a song just begging for a Muscadine Bloodline cover if you ask me.
4. “Three Cheers for Five Years” – Mayday Parade
Another one of the top-liked comment requests, “Three Cheers for Five Years” by Mayday Parade, would be another one right in Muscadine’s wheelhouse. Given the fact that they’ve already covered them on Teenage Angst with “Jamie All Over,” I could see them running it back once again and crushing another cover.
5. “If It Means A Lot To You” – A Day To Remember
Appearing on the same album as “Have Faith In Me,” “If It Means A Lot To You” is another A Day To Remember track that is begging to be covered by a duo like Muscadine. Given the fact that it features a duet with a female vocalist, I could see an artist like Kat Hasty appearing on a cover and absolutely crushing it along with Gary and Charlie.
