The last month has been a whirlwind for the 27-year-old golfer Scottie Scheffler.

One month ago, Scottie Scheffler took home his second green jacket, sucking the suspense out of Master’s Sunday with his unbelievable swings. While he walked away victorious, there was a point during The Master’s where he questioned if he would make it to the final hole.

Scheffler’s wife, Meredith, was close to labor during the prestigious competition, and he noted that if she went into labor early, he would leave the green.

“I’m sticking to my word…you only have your first child once.”

Right after receiving his green jacket, he hurried home to be with Meredith and to celebrate the victory with her.

“I will go home, soak in this victory tonight. I will definitely enjoy the birth of my first child. But with that being said, I still love competing.

My priorities will change here very soon. My son or daughter will now be the main priority, along with my wife, so golf will now be probably fourth in line. But I still love competing. I don’t plan on taking my eye off the ball anytime soon, that’s for sure.”

While their baby waited to enter the world, Scheffler and his wife took to Instagram last night to introduce their baby boy to fans and friends. The couple’s son, Bennett, made his debut last Wednesday, and after a few days of privacy, they are ready to share their bundle of joy with the world.

“Welcome to the world little one. Your mom & dad love you so much.”

Scheffler shared with The Golf Channel yesterday during a PGA Championship interview that fatherhood has been everything and more thus far.

“I had, I think, pretty high expectations about what it would feel like, and I think those were far exceeded.

I didn’t really know exactly what it would feel like, I thought it would be pretty great, it’s a pretty amazing feeling. It was fairly challenging leaving the house this morning… I told my little man when I was leaving, I don’t wanna leave, but I gotta leave.”

It seems that Scheffler is seamlessly stepping into the role of dad while maintaining his focus during the practice rounds of the PGA Championship.
