Well… it appears that the entire city of Philadelphia is descending on Nashville this weekend as the Eagles are set to take on the Tennessee Titans.
The NFL season is officially underway, and for some teams, the Super Bowl aspirations are real. For others, like the Tennessee Titans, their fanbase is already losing hope, and we’re only one game into the 2026-27 season. Despite bringing in a fresh, new coaching staff featuring head coach Robert Salah (who failed at the Jets) and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll (who failed with the Giants), the Titans looked like the same old Titans during Week 1.
They lost to the New York Jets 23 to 10, and there wasn’t much out on the field – besides a fancy new color scheme for the Titans – to get fans excited.
Now, heading into Week 2, the Nashville NFL franchise really has their work cut out for them. The Philadelphia Eagles are coming to town, and the Jalen Hurts-led team is looking to make the road game a home game. Considering the apathetic start to the season for the Titans, and the always impassioned Philly fanatics, that flip in the Eagles’ favor could very well happen.
Just take it from Eagles super-fan Paul Edwards. He got stopped by the local news on his way from Philly to Nashville, and here’s what he had to say:
“Let’s get this party started buddy. Here we go, here we go. Tennessee Titans? We’re gonna own that stadium. There’s no doubt about that. Get ready for a stompin’. Be ready for our offensive line to run you over. Go Birds!”
Something tells me thousands upon thousands of “Pauls” will be at Nissan Stadium.
Eagles fans appear to be getting to Nashville early to make the most of the weekend. There’s been plenty of videos of green-garbed Philadelphians walking around in Nashville and taking over bars on Broadway. They are even getting their “E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES chants” going anywhere and everywhere they can:
Yeah… Nissan Stadium could be painted green for Sunday’s matchup.
And yes, I know that Titans fans aren’t going to be packing Broadway like road teams tend to do ahead of Nashville home games. Locals try to avoid Lower Broadway at all costs, and that doesn’t typically change when Tennessee plays at home. However, with the new, shiny, state-of-the-art stadium that is set to open in 2027… I’m worried the Titans are going to become the south’s version of the Los Angeles Rams/Los Angeles Chargers.
Turn on their home games and you’ll often see the stands filled out by opposing fans, rather than the home faithful. That’s because L.A. is a destination that fans love to travel to for games, and the city is full of transplants that didn’t actually grow up rooting for the home team. Does that sound familiar?
I’ve already heard that Titans fans that have had season tickets for decades are being priced out by the new Nissan Stadium prices. And it’s no secret that Nashville, Tennessee is one of the premiere, weekend trip destinations – and a place where people continue to move to in droves.
Things are already looking bleak for the Titans fanbase, and if it continue like this, the brand new stadium could open up to a raucous crowd of… opposing fans next season.
