Travis Kelce Gets Roasted For “Hell Yeah” Reaction To Tom Cruise’s Complex Film Explanation

Travis and Tom

Tom Cruise explaining the ins and outs of cinema to the Kelce Brothers proves that Travis Kelce isn’t ever going to beat the “dumb jock” allegations.

Granted, the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end is doing just fine. He’s made millions upon millions of dollars playing football, and more importantly (at least to some), he’s married to the biggest pop star on the planet: Taylor Swift. Clearly a lot of things have worked out in Travis Kelce’s favor, including falling right into a very successful podcast with his brother, Jason.

It was actually the New Heights podcast that provided this moment that’s currently going viral online. Tom Cruise famously doesn’t do a lot of interviews, but for some reason, was willing to sit down with Travis and Jason Kelce to talk about his upcoming film titled Digger.

The movie star was talking about how the movie releasing next month was shot on film/Vistavision and the difference that makes, and then got into the history of Vistavision and why it was created. Cruise – a certified cinephile – got complex with his explanation, and why it worked perfectly for the Alejandro González Iñárritu-directed film:

“Vistavision was developed. They started to use it, like ILM started to use it with visual effects. It’s just about the clarity of the frame. The richness of the frame, and what you are able to do with it. It’s just very beautiful. And compositionally, it works for the tone of this film, or how Alejandro was able to shoot the film.”

The internet couldn’t help but notice that the lengthy explanation seemed to go way over Travis’ head, as I’m sure it would for most of us, yet to let Cruise know he was listening, he responded with some noises, as well as “Okay” and my favorite, “Hell yeah it did.”

Some pretty high-brow stuff for the New Heights podcast.

Those on social media couldn’t help but compare the interaction to someone trying to understand the rules of a board game, or more insulting, a pet owner talking to their dog while they wait for a treat. And Travis Kelce making headlines recently for falling for an investment scam definitely didn’t help his cause.

That, on top of this clip, caused the internet to really go after Kelce’s intelligence:
