Freddy – the German soccer fan that went viral during the 2026 World Cup for documenting his time in America – is BACK.
The World Cup was exciting by itself, but one of the highlights of the event was seeing visitors to the United States experiencing the greatness of America firsthand. One could argue that no one did it better than Freddy. He really set the bar high as he drove through the U.S., discovered American establishments like Waffle House and Buc-ee’s, and crazily got connected with country music star Ella Langley.
He even got to meet Ella Langley before he and his friends headed back across the pond:
After Germany was bounced from the World Cup rather early, Freddy stuck around to continue living the American dream… and now he’s back for more.
The German sports fan decided that he and his friends should test out America’s version of football, and recently returned to the U.S. of A. to go on a tour of college football stadiums. Earlier this month, he put out a message saying that though the trip is football-focused… they are looking to take in all kinds of sports while they are here:
“As we’re entering American airspace, I wanna say a few things about this trip. This isn’t supposed to be World Cup trip 2.0. That trip is impossible to replicate. This is something different. We’re huge sports fans and have always talked about doing a trip around college sports. Also, on this trip we‘re not only going to football games.
We want to experience all kinds of sports: basketball, volleyball, soccer of course, and many more. We also have some ideas for other stuff, like going camping in the Appalachians or visiting an Oktoberfest. We can’t wait to experience all these different sports, try new food and see new places.”
I’ve got questions about Freddy’s PTO situation… but regardless, welcome back.
The first stop along the “Freddy Across America Part 2” tour was Iowa. The social media star went to Kinnick Stadium last weekend and saw the Hawkeyes take down Iowa State, and got field access and even a stadium tour after the conclusion of the game:
“We are here in Kinnick Stadium! What a beautiful stadium. And we even made it onto the field for the warm up! Also the student section behind us is going crazy already.”
What a life Freddy is leading.
Going to a college football game is fun and all, but it’s what Freddy and his friends did just a day ago that had fans of his online really excited for him. The German soccer fan got to see the “8th Wonder of the World” while visiting Memphis, Tennessee: The Bass Pro Shops Pyramid:
“We just visited the Bass Pro Shop Pyramid, the so called ‘8th Wonder of the World.’ This place is absolutely insane. They literally had alligators in there, a shooting range, bowling lanes and even a whole hotel. Genuinely felt more like an amusement park than an outdoor shop.”
Welp… go ahead and pack it up Freddy. It’s not going to get any better than that.
That being said, Freddy’s next stop is Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Alabama to watch the Auburn Tigers take on the Florida Gators. Will the SEC matchup live up to the hype, and provide an incredible atmosphere? Probably so. But it’s still no Bass Pro Shops Pyramid.
