I guess Stagecoach isn’t ready to tell Eric Church not to come back just yet.

Church had by far the most talked about set during the three-day Stagecoach Festival in Indio, California after he used his headlining set on Friday to perform a 90-minute acoustic medley, complete with a gospel choir and featuring everything from “Oh Happy Day” to “Gin & Juice” mixed in with some of his own hits.

Of course while his fans loved it, a lot of people weren’t happy with the performance and said that a festival like Stagecoach wasn’t the right environment for a set like that.

And it’s not the first time Church has ruffled feathers for trying something new during a festival performance, after he admitted that CMA Fest told him not to come back when he decided to perform a 30-minute acoustic medley during his headlining set in 2019.

But apparently Stagecoach didn’t completely ban Eric from their stages after his set, because Chief was back on Sunday night for a surprise appearance during Morgan Wallen‘s headlining performance.

Morgan brought out Church to perform their chart-topping duet “Man Made A Bar,” which recently went #1 with the most awkward timing possible after Morgan was arrested for allegedly throwing a chair off the rooftop of Church’s downtown Nashville bar, Chief’s.

Seems like Eric has forgiven Morgan for the incident though – although you’ve gotta wonder how the conversation about the incident went between the two business partners.
