Football Fans Rejoice Over News Of Reggie Bush Getting His Heisman Trophy Reinstated

Reggie Bush

I can’t believe I’m about to type this out but… the NCAA finally did the right thing.

In a Wednesday morning surprise, it was officially announced that legendary football player Reggie Bush would have his Heisman Trophy reinstated after it was stripped away in 2010 after a lengthy investigation by the NCAA. Bush won the Heisman in 2005 after having one of the best and most accomplished college football seasons in the history of the sport.

It was determined by the NCAA that he and his family were given improper benefits while he was at USC. But in today’s modern age of Name, Image, and Likeness money, things like that would be allowed in the sport (some QBs have access to private planes now), so the governing organization who should have never taken away the Heisman Trophy decided to give it back.

Reggie Bush celebrated with this cold as ice post on his Instagram:

“No one can take from you what God has for you.”

That’s how you announce that you got back what was rightfully yours.

Bush being stripped if his Heisman was one of the bigger long-term controversies in the sports world. So now it feels as though all is right within college football, and the former standout college and NFL footballer couldn’t be happier about the decision, as he told ESPN:

“Personally, I’m thrilled to reunite with my fellow Heisman winners and be a part of the storied legacy of the Heisman Trophy, and I’m honored to return to the Heisman family.”

Needless to say, almost everyone on social media was celebrating just as much as Bush and the rest of the “Heisman house” (former Heisman winners). Who knew that giving someone back a trophy could bring together social media like this?

Clearly Reggie Bush getting his Heisman back meant a lot to a lot of people. Probably because a lot of people know just how good he was as a USC Trojan. If you weren’t watching football back then (2003 to 2005), or if you haven’t looked up a Reggie Bush highlight reel, allow me to direct your attention to this compilation of some of Bush’s best moments:
