“Couldn’t Do It” – Morgan Wallen Says Lane Kiffin Wouldn’t Wear A Peyton Manning Jersey During Ole Miss Concert

Yeah, Morgan had to know that one wasn’t happening.

Over the weekend, Morgan Wallen finally took the stage in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, a year after his concert at Ole Miss was postponed just minutes before he was set to take the stage after he lost his voice.

Well despite some last-minute trolling, Morgan’s voice held out this time, and the show went on as scheduled.

And as he walked out to the stage, Morgan was joined by a very familiar face in Oxford, Mississippi: Rebels head football coach Lane Kiffin.

Now of course Morgan is a fan of his hometown Tennessee Volunteers, who just happen to be rivals with Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels. Oh, and Kiffin was also the former head coach at Tennessee, where he ruffled feathers after leaving after only one season to take the head coaching job at USC (and we all know how that one ended…).

So yeah, safe to say Kiffin’s probably not a huge Tennessee fan these days. So it’s no surprise that he didn’t want to wear a jersey of one of their most celebrated alums for the concert…

During the show, Morgan joked (at least I think it was a joke?) that he tried to get Lane Kiffin to wear a Peyton Manning jersey, but the coach declined:

“I tried to get Lane Kiffin to wear a Peyton Manning jersey and he said no, so I think y’all ought to keep him around for a while.”

And coach himself responded later on Twitter, saying he just couldn’t bring himself to do it:

No real surprise there…but it looks like Kiffin enjoyed the show regardless.
