“Alexa, Play ‘The Chair’ By George Strait” – Ernest Wins The Internet With Hilarious Response To Morgan Wallen’s Arrest

At least his friends can poke fun at Wallen’s arrest.

Last night, Morgan Wallen was arrested on Broadway after throwing a chair off the rooftop of Eric Church’s new Broadway bar. According to News Channel 5, Nashville police officers were standing on the sidewalk when the chair struck the ground near them, and Chief staff members pointed out Wallen as the culprit, which was later confirmed by surveillance footage.

The chair he threw off the 6th floor of the bar didn’t strike any pedestrians, but given the seriousness of the injury that the object being thrown off the roof could have inflicted, he was taken in.

Wallen was arrested on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon/reckless endangerment, two counts for the two officers who were in the vicinity, and one for the general danger to the public. Wallen was also charged with disorderly conduct. His bond set at $15,250.

His attorney released the following statement:

“At 10:53p Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct. He is cooperating fully with authorities.”

Wallen was released from the station around 3:30 am, and Nashville Metro Police released his mug shot, and in typical Morgan Wallen form, he’s got a big ol’ grin on his face. This follows the grin he had on his face as he laughed while in the back of the cop car. Apparently, the cops thought it was pretty too:

John Rich quickly made a public statement regarding Wallen’s reckless actions, wishing him to find better mentors so his career would not be further scathed.

While Rich chooses a more serious approach to his reaction, and one that makes a lot of sense, Wallen’s friend Ernest took a lighter approach to the matter. This morning, after headlines flooded the internet about his arrest, Ernest took to social media to post a light-hearted video that can’t help but make you giggle thinking about Wallen’s stupidity.

“When Morgan asks me if I wanna go to Broadway…”

The onscreen caption reads as Lainey Wilson’s “I Would If I Could,” a song written by Dean Dillon and Skip Ewing back in 1996, plays in the background of the video where Ernest is driving shaking his head. He captions the post:

“Alexa, play “The Chair” by George Strait.”

I mean… I don’t care who you are, that’s hilarious:

Check out some of the golden commentary on the post.

“I went to Broadway, and I went to jail one was a bar, one was a cell.”

“That chair must’ve been asking for it.”

“Well done.”

“Too soon.”

“What a true bestie.”

“Ernest went to college, Morgan went to jail.”

“This is the most legendary post ever.”

“Ern woke up and chose violence.”

“This wins the internet today.”

I honestly respect the heck out of Ern for poking fun at the situation and not letting himself be lumped into Wallen’s actions.

That being said, Morgan really needs to get a handle on things. Of course, nobody was hurt and that’s great, but first it was smashing shot glasses at Kid Rock’s bar, then it was throwing a chair off roof… lock it up, dude. And if you can’t, get a handler or a bodyguard or someone to keep you from doing dumb stuff.

And just because Ern brough it up… Alexa, play “The Chair” by George Strait.
