Bud Light Bringing In Comedian Shane Gillis For Endorsement Deal

The Anheuser-Busch corporation is doing anything and everything they can to bounce back from a horrible 2023.

It’s no secret that Bud Light’s partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney tanked the beer company’s brand. The “Bud Light Boycott” was one of the biggest consumer stories of last year, and led Modelo to take over Bud Light as the most popular beer in America.

Ever since that happened, Bud Light and Anheuser-Busch have scrambled to rebuild their brand and loyal customer base by “going back to the basics” and attempting to bring in a number of different spokespeople and partnerships (one huge one was with the UFC).

That list of celebrity endorsements in the past year includes the likes of Travis Kelce, Zach Bryan, Peyton Manning, and now one of the most popular comedians in the country: Shane Gillis.

If the name doesn’t sound familiar, just ask your boyfriend/husband, or really any man on the street about him. There might not be a bigger comedian than Shane Gillis at the moment, with many people crowning him as the “male version of Taylor Swift.”

Gillis likes to push the envelope with his comedy, and often dances on the line between things that are okay to talk about and things that are taboo. He was hired to join Saturday Night Live’s cast in 2019, but was fired not even a week afterwards when some controversial jokes from his past surfaced.

Though that might seem like a career killer, that whole situation actually had the exact opposite effect. Gillis’ “cancellation” actually spring boarded his comedy career and made him one of the more popular comedians with the younger generation.

So now, the Bud Light brand will attach themselves to the likable everyman, and the partner with the comedian for the foreseeable future. The partnership was announced on Shane Gillis’ Instagram account, when he posted a number of photos of himself touring the Anheuser-Busch brewery in St. Louis, Missouri with the caption:

“Excited to announce partnership with Bud Light. #budlightpartner”

And funny enough, the deal between Shane and Bud Light was something that was joked about when Gillis was a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience back in May of last year.

While discussing the “Bud Light Boycott,” Rogan suggested that Gillis would be the one that could save the beer brand:

“I feel like you should be the new spokesperson. You could turn this motherf**ker around.”

Gillis took a moment to soak in that compliment, then fired back at Rogan with:

“They better hurry up and give me some money or I’m gonna start drinking Coors Light.”

Well, it looks like they gave him some money, so hope you like drinking Bud Light Shane!

Judging by this conversation below, it’s safe to say that Gillis has always been a fan of the Anheuser-Busch light beer, so it all worked out swimmingly for him:

And if you need some entertainment, make sure you check out the comments on the post announcing the partnership. It seems like this might be the one to finally win drinkers back.
