“I’d Eat Him Alive” – Stephen A. Smith Wants To Debate Former President Donald Trump

Alright, so…how can we make sure that this debate happens?

A battle between Stephen A. Smith, the king of sports debate television, and Donald Trump, a viscous debater himself, would be must see television. The former POTUS has never been one to back down from a challenge, so if Stephen A. Smith is serious about this, let’s get it set up, am I right?

Smith, who seemingly has a goal to be on every ESPN show that exists, was a guest on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, and the topic of a potential debate came up. Though Stephen A. made it clear that he didn’t want anything to do with a presidential run, the sports personality did say he would be happy to take Trump on in a debate:

“Obviously, I have my show First Take on ESPN every weekday morning. I would love to be in a presidential debate. I’d eat him alive. I wouldn’t run for the presidency, but I’d debate Trump any day of the week. Any day of the week! Name the time and place and I’ll show up!

Do you know what I would do if I was on the stage with Trump and Trump tried to talk about the way that I look? Do you know how much material I would have? Look at him. Are you kidding me?

I marvel at how people have limited comebacks for him. Jeb Bush, ‘low energy,’ no comeback. Marco Rubio, ‘little Marco,’ no comeback.”

Stephen A. Smith makes a valid point there…

Why hasn’t anyone tried to give Trump a taste of his own medicine? Oh, because they are taking the higher road and trying to respect the profession and livelihood of politics? Got it, that makes sense.

Still though, it might be good for someone to finally challenge Trump on the debate stage. Howard Stern was saying that most people wouldn’t want to fight fire with fire if they faced off against the former president, but that was something that Smith apparently wasn’t worried about:

“What’s it worth to you, Howard? If it’s worth it to me, I’m gonna be ready. You gotta be a communicator. If you’re aspiring to be the commander n’ chief you gotta know how to communicate, you gotta know how to resonate with an audience!”

If there’s one man that is both a good communicator and knows how to resonate with an audience, it’s Stephen A. Smith. God help us all if this debate actually gets arranged and the topic of the Dallas Cowboys comes up…
