Garth Brooks officially opened his new downtown Nashville bar, Friends In Low Places, tonight, and of course the first performance was from…Garth Brooks.
Naturally he was joined by his wife, the incredibly talented Trisha Yearwood. But viewers quickly noticed something seemed off about Trisha’s performance…
The concert was livestreamed on Amazon after the NFL’s Black Friday game between the Dolphins and the Jets. And the internet went in on Trisha harder than the Jets did during their lackluster performance against the Dolphins.
Many pointed out that Trisha seemed to be off-key during her performance of “She’s In Love With The Boy,” and questioned whether she had in-ear monitors or could hear herself during the song.
Some even said it sounded like a “karaoke” performance.
And others wondered if she was under the weather.
Of course it isn’t exactly the level of production that superstars like Garth and Trisha are used to. They’re playing at a bar, not at an arena or stadium like they’re usually in, and while Garth has said he wants to have the best stage on Broadway, even the best bar stage can no doubt be a challenge to performers.
But man, I watched the performance and I have to agree…it wasn’t Trisha’s best showing.
