Okay, we need a Kelly Clarkson and Ashley McBryde collab ASAP…

Yesterday on her daytime talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show, Kelly delivered a gorgeous rendition of Ashley’s girl power anthem “Bonfire At Tina’s,” and I am obsessed.

Kelly has performed countless country songs on her daytime talk show during the Kellyoke segment you should check out while we’re on the subject, like Willie Nelson’s “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”, Travis Tritt’s “Here’s A Quarter (Call Someone Who Cares)”, Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire”, and even Dolly Parton’s “Jolene”.

Anywho, “Bonfire At Tina’s” was included on Ashley’s 2022 Grammy-nominated Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville concept album, and originally featured Caylee Hammack, Brandy Clark, and Pillbox Patti.

It has got those classic revenge vibes that make up some of the best female country songs, but what makes it really stand out is that it acknowledges that a lot of time women (especially small-town women) are pitted against each other, yet when push comes to shove, they will show up to support each other when it matters most.

And once again, people in the comments were going crazy over her rendition, saying that Kelly needs to put out a country album or dabble in the genre in some similar way.

Similar to Post Malone, I think she’s one of the very few artists that could genuinely pull it off, so here’s to hoping one day it might happen.

And if it does, I hope she’ll call in Miss McBryde for a duet or something of the sort…
