Watch Yellowstone Creator Taylor Sheridan Star In A Coors Commercial Alongside Les Paul Way Back In 1997

Taylor Sheridan and Les Paul
Coors

Man, they just don’t make commercials like they used to.

I found myself going through a bunch of old commercials, like the early ’90s Willie Nelson commercial of him endorsing Taco Bell’s steak burrito, and the Tim and Tug McGraw early 2000s Bud Light commercial. Even John Wayne and the great Sam Elliott did some killer Coors commercials back in the day.

Talk about the good ol’ days.

However, while I was going down this rabbit hole, I came across an old commercial that immediately caught my eye. It was an old Coors commercial from back in 1997, and in the video, you see a group of guys sitting around and enjoying some Coors in what appears to be some honky tonk.

Next thing you know, you see a guy in a cowboy hat playing a few chords on an electric guitar.

Then, one of the old guys sitting down says:

“Sounds pretty good, can I see the guitar?”

The guy in the cowboy hat says:

“You play?”

Then, the old guy starts SHREDDING on the guitar, as the guy in the cowboy hat looks on in awe.

Cowboy hat then asks the old guy what his name is, and he responds:

“It’s on your guitar.”

Sure enough, the old guy was the great Les Paul, the famed jazz, country, and blues guitarist who was the inspiration behind the Gibson Les Paul guitar. As bada** as that is, I came to an even more shocking revelation in this commercial…

The guy in the cowboy hat is no other than Taylor Sheridan, creator of Yellowstone, 1883, 1923, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Wind River, and more.

I guess we can throw “legendary Coors commercial” in Sheridan’s already impressive resume.
