NFL Mexico’s Football Announcer Is Legendary & Bills WR Stefon Diggs Got In On The Monday Night Football Fun

Why can’t American sports announcers have as much enthusiasm as the announcers of our country’s southern neighbors?

Every time I see even a second of announcing from a Mexican league, I can’t help but imagine how exciting it must be to listen to a full game’s worth of announcing in that style. I’d need to brush up on my Spanish, of course, but I think I’d be able to get by just on sheer vibes alone.

How am I able to say that? Well, I’d argue that a lot of people are feeling the same way after NFL Mexico and ESPN reporter John Sutcliffe has finally gotten his well deserved moment in the spotlight.

Some of his coverage went viral on social media ahead of the Monday Night Football game between the Buffalo Bills and the Denver Broncos, and for good reason.

Just watch how Sutcliffe delivers the simple line of “Monday Night Football.” The man screams it with such passion, you’d think his life depends on it:

Now THAT is how you get people excited for Monday Night Football. Inject that right into my veins.

And that wasn’t the only reason Sutcliffe was getting a lot of attention on social media. While he was on the field during pregame warmups, Bills star wide receiver Stefon Diggs came over and crashed the party, and Sutcliffe could not have been more excited about it.

Diggs ended up taking his cameo a step further though, showing off his Spanish speaking skills. Sutcliffe asked the Bills player a couple of questions in his native language, and Diggs was able to understand and reply for much of the conversation.

Of course, it didn’t take much recognition linguistically when the NFL Mexico reporter launched into his patented “Monday Night Football” shriek, and Stefon Diggs happily joined in to help yell the weeknight that football was being played on.
