Safe to say Megan Rapinoe’s comments didn’t sit well with Duck Hodges.

This weekend, the now-retired soccer star had her final game cut short after she suffered a non-contact injury during the NWSL championship game just three minutes into the contest.

Her club, OL Reign, would go on to lose 1-2 to Gotham FC, who took home the National Women’s Soccer League trophy.

And after the game, Rapinoe said that her injury was “proof that there isn’t” a God.

“I’m not a religious person or anything, and if there was a God, like, this is proof that there isn’t. This is f*cked up.”

Needless to say, her comments didn’t sit well with a lot of folks on the internet – including former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges.

Hodges, who is also the boyfriend of country music superstar (and newly crowned CMA Entertainer of the Year) Lainey Wilson, took to Twitter (or X, or whatever it’s called this week) to respond to Rapinoe’s comments:

“Wow. For those seeing this.

Just know there is a God and he has wonderful plans for those that believe in him!”

And people were quick to jump in and praise Duck for speaking out:

Safe to say Hodges wasn’t a fan of Rapinoe’s comments.
