When you think of a football tailgate, do you think of love?
You probably answered “no” to that question, but you might change your mind after seeing this video. Some might view a tailgate as best place to drink some beer and eat some good food, while others see it as the perfect wedding destination.
Brooke and Rob Rittner tied the knot in the parking lot of Lincoln Financial Field yesterday shortly before the Philadelphia Eagles went to battle against the Dallas Cowboys.
Decked out in Eagles memorabilia (the bride even had a dress train made out of a jersey), the couple walked down the (asphalt) aisle and had an officiant in a Kelly Green uniform marry them.
With how expensive weddings are nowadays, I don’t really blame them at all for pulling off this tailgate ceremony. Plus, there’s a good chance if they are tried and true football fans that most of their friends and family were there at the tailgate anyways, so it was probably a “kill two birds with one stone” type of event.
And what an event it was. When Brooke was asked if she took Rob to be her lawfully wedded husband, she answered with a resounding:
“Helllll yeahhh!”
Then, when they kissed one another to signify the beginning of their marriage, they were then cheered on by the crowd of witnesses, who broke out into a “E-A-G-L-E-S, EAGLES” chant, which is what every bride dreams of.
Brooke and Rob then posed in front of a sign that celebrated their Tailgate Wedding Day, and also recognized that it was Eagles center Jason Kelce’s birthday (he should be honored that he was a part of that sign).
The Eagles got video of the tailgate wedding ceremony and shared it on their social media accounts, saying:
“A wedding tailgate! THAT’s a Philly thing. Congratulations Brooke & Rob.”
Everyone in the reply section of the post loved the tailgate wedding and showed their support for Brooke and Rob (who eventually got to see the Eagles take down the Dallas Cowboys in a very exciting game that took place very close to where they got married):
