Man, it’s been over two months since Oliver Anthony went from a no name artist, to a viral sensation literally overnight with his song “Rich Men North of Richmond.”

Of course, when you write a song that perfectly describes what nearly every working class American feels, it’s going to turn some heads whether people like the song or not.

“Rich Men North of Richmond” is up to over 87 million views on the original RadioWV video so far, and has racked up nearly 100 million streams on Spotify. Not to mention, the song saw so much immediate success that it pushed Anthony all the way to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, becoming the first artist to ever debut in the number one spot.

Since the song’s release, Anthony (whose real name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford) has shared a handful of songs with us, such as “Ain’t Gotta Dollar,” “I Want to go Home,” “I’ve Got to Get Sober,” and more.

But the question still remains… When are we getting an album?

Well, it appears we’re finally getting the answer we’ve all been waiting for.

Anthony shared on Twitter:

“Have been in the woods lately writing some songs and petting some dogs. Will be recording my first official album in January.

Going to be recording outdoors, much like the RadioWv session videos you’ve seen popping up on YouTube recently, but with a few other instruments added.”

Right now, it feels like everything Anthony touches turns to gold, so I can’t wait to hear what the Virginia native is cooking up for us.
