Taylor Swift made quite the impression on Travis Kelce’s dad. After Donna Kelce said that meeting Taylor Swift was “okay,” she got a glowing review from the Chiefs star’s dad after this week’s game.
Of course Donna seemed to be playing it coy, but why do a press circuit if you’re not gonna say anything about it? Weird…
But dad was much more open about his experience with Taylor. In a recent interview with People Magazine, he detailed his first time meeting Swift, noting that she was:
“A very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman.”
But what stood out to him most was her manners while sitting in the suite during the game. Ed Kelce goes on to tell what impressed him most about the international pop star.
“I’ll tell you something very special that I noticed about Taylor the first time I met her.
We were sitting in the suite, she gets up, and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something, and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around. Because in the suites, everybody gets stuff, and you empty it down wherever you can.”
The action of picking up after others surprised Ed, making him realize that she was far from acting like the pop star she is and does not have a “diva” streak.
“And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo. She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really, to me said a whole lot.
She’s very smart. I mean, very. That comes through right away.”
Clearly, Ed was charmed by the tall blonde superstar, making the impression that her intentions with Kelce were genuine. And even if Swift is putting on the charm to impress the parents, can you blame her? Everyone wants to make a lasting impression on the parents of their significant other.
Of course, she also knows that cameras on her 24/7 and she definitely plays it up. We’ve all seen the awards shows, and now, the football games. When Taylor knows the cameras are around, and constantly looking at her, she definitely plays the part.
However, other reports noted that Swift was also seen cleaning the suite of the first NFL game she attended, which sparked the rumors she was dating Travis Kelce. So, I think it’s a safe bet to say this is a genuine action from Swift.
