If you’ve been keeping up with the NFL world for the past few weeks, then you know there’s been one headline making the news daily…
The relationship between pop star Taylor Swift and star Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
In fact, I’m fully convinced that we could be going into nuclear warfare, and a Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce headline would make the news first. Needless to say, both the pop world and NFL world are eating the news up, especially after Swift made an appearance at the last two Chiefs games, as she was spotted in the box alongside Kelce’s mom, Donna.
But speaking of Donna Kelce, she made an appearance on Today! to discuss what it was like meeting Swift for the first time.
And what did she tell co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb?
“It was OK.”
Good for you, Donna. Meeting arguably the most famous pop singer in the world, and saying it was just “OK?” That’s a power move right there.
She also said:
“I don’t like to talk about it. It’s just one of those things where everyone saw me. I was in the boxes with her. It’s another thing that’s amped up my life.”
Oh, please… tell us more.
When Guthrie and Kotb brought up how much they’re delighted every time they meet Taylor, Donna kind of quietly cut off the conversation:
“Yeah, yep… yeah.”
DAMN… ice cold.
Donna is either locking it down and playing coy, or hates her guts… can’t be anywhere in between. I don’t know why you’d even do media if you weren’t going to say anything so I’m choosing to believe Option B. Which is more fun anyways, right?
Nevertheless, I can imagine that the past few weeks have been a whirlwind for Donna, who is 70-years-old. She just seems like a mom who wants to quietly cheer on her sons Travis and Jason (who plays offensive line for the Philadelphia Eagles), and she’s had a camera in her face for the past few weeks. Not to mention T-Swift showing up to the booth with an entourage of people…
Either way, saying “it was OK” to meeting Taylor Swift is an all-time line right there. Donna is a straight up G.

She also told the Got It From My Momma podcast that it felt like an alternate universe, but she also understands why the NFL is playing it up… for the money.
“I feel like I’m in an alternate universe, because it’s something I’ve never been involved with before. I thought it would be over at that point, but it seems to just continue. Every week just seems to trump the week before. So it’s really kind of wild, a wild ride.”
