Phillies Security Guard Goes Full Brian Dawkins, Obliterates Idiot Who Ran On The Field Before Game 2 Of The NLCS

The spirit of Brian Dawkins is alive and well in the South Philly Sports complex.

My Philadelphia Phillies have been looking pretty dang good this postseason, so far dropping only one game to the Atlanta Braves in the divisional series after sweeping the Marlins in the Wild Card round and racing out to a 2-0 series lead over the previously red-hot Arizona Diamondbacks in the NLCS.

The whole team seems to have fully come together at the right time, with record numbers of home runs being smacked and the pitching, which has been the downfall of the team of late, has been superb.

As with anything Philly, the fans have been absolutely outrageous, mocking the Braves with their classic “Tomahawk” chant, rattling opposing pitchers, and making Citizens Bank Park a madhouse for each of the 6 games played at home this postseason.

While most of it has been good, wholesome fun (Philly wholesome, but wholesome none the less) one dumb fan last night got a bit carried away and decided to run out onto the field while the teams were still warming up before first pitch.

I never really understood this, I mean you’re going to be banned from the ballpark for life, can’t watch the rest of the game, and it’s not like anyone knows your name so you don’t even walk away with any “street cred”, but hey, I guess you’re not going to understand every person in this world.

Well, this guy began running around and a massive Philly sports fan who goes by Dunphy215 (and sports a slew of Philadelphia tattoos) posted a video of the security guards running this guy down, and while he was surrounded and looked like he was about to be caught, one young buck of a guard came sprinting like classic Brian Dawkins and laid the lumber, sending both bodies spiraling through the air and landing into a heap of bruised limbs.

I believe it’s Phillies best reliever Jose Alvarado in the background who throws his hands up and reacts just like we all do when someone gets popped. Seriously, this was one of the best hits I’ve seen in some time; can we get this guy a try out for the league?

I try not to get over confident and will probably live to regret typing this up, but I fully echo the video’s caption…
