We’ve have been covering Kolby Cooper’s music for a while now, and today, we are taking a trip down memory lane to one of Cooper’s earlier tracks “Curse October.”
Cooper has been posting videos on his TikTok, letting fans ask questions about his tattoos and why he might have gotten them. In his latest video, a fan asked him what his most meaningful tattoo was, to which Cooper revealed a very heartbreaking, yet beautiful, story.
At the start of the video, he shows his hand with the words “Curse October” in cursive tattooed between his thumb and pointer finger.
“So, for those of you who don’t know, I lost my dad whenever I was fourteen to brain cancer… which sucked… pretty bad.
I wrote this song about it and put it on our very first album, it’s called “Curse October.” We really bonded over music. When I was a kid, we’d always listen to new CDs in his truck whenever he got home from work and stuff.
So every night when I’m playing guitar on stage and stuff, I look down, and it’s right there. That one probably means the most.”

The track appeared on this 2020 album Good Ones Never Last, is one of the most heartbreaking songs. Cooper’s lyrics highlight all the emotions of losing a parent, which will punch you in the gut.
