They say that crocodiles and alligators are basically just living dinosaurs, and it sounds like this croc has had something stuck in its throat since pre-historic times.
Someone was walking around in the Florida Everglades and happened to stumble upon this crocodile trying to clear its throat.
You’ve probably never heard a croc cough, or even thought about it doing so, which means you probably aren’t prepared for the sound that you’ll hear when you watch the clip.
Though this is the first time I’ve ever seen a crocodile cough, the practice of “hacking” is actually quite common for the scaly reptilian. A croc’s communication tactics are very unique, and they often uses hisses, coughs, and a plethora of other noises to get their point across.
If this crocodile was trying to communicate, maybe even with the person that’s filming, what do you think it was trying to say? Get the hell out of here? Mind your own business? Take a picture, it’ll last longer?
It’s got to be one of those three things, or it just got done eating a deer or an animal like that and something just isn’t settling right in its throat. Could be a classic case of “it went down the wrong pipe,” and we’ve all been there, am I right?
Anyways, try to prepare yourself as best as you can before you press play on a video of a crocodile who sounds like it just smoked an entire pack of Marlboro Reds:
A lot of the X users in the comments were surprised (and even shocked) by the crocodile’s respiratory clearing, but most of them were just in the replies to make some jokes:
First it was crocodile tears
Now it’s crocodile cough
