Jake Worthington is leading the new wave of traditional country up-and-comers in a big way after the release of his self-titled debut album. Filled with fiddle, steel, heartbreak and beer, Jake has a sound that reminiscent of some of the greats like Randy Travis, Keith Whitley, Mark Chesnutt, and even a little bit of George Jones in there too.
Over the past year or so, whenever I’ve asked an artist which up-and-comer they’re excited about, 90% of the time Jake’s name comes up. And it’s not hard to see why, with incredible songs like “State You Left Me In,” the leadoff track from the new album.
Tonight, Jake took to the stage at the historic Ryman Auditorium to perform the song at Marty Stuart’s 20th Annual Late Night Jam.
