Megan Moroney Releases Honky Tonkin’ Title Track To Debut Album, “Lucky”

Megan Moroney country music

It’s Friday morning and now I’m ready to hit the honky tonk…

Megan Moroney just released the boot-stompin’ title track to her debut studio album “Lucky,” and I love hearing the more upbeat, playful side of her sound here.

She sings about goin’ out and catching a good buzz under the neon, and with every sip, comes to the conclusion that she misses her ex and wants to see him, noting how lucky he is that she’s drinking because it wouldn’t be happening otherwise.

It’s a situation that many of us probably know all too well, and the production here is so country and fun that I can’t get enough:

“‘Cause me, my phone, and the neon’s buzzin’
Three, four in and I’m missin’ your lovin’
We said, ‘Naw, never again’
And we said we’d be better as friends
But come over and don’t overthink it
Tonight you’re lucky I’m drinkin'”

She announced her full-fledged studio debut May 5th, and just a couple days ago, she revealed the full 13-song tracklist, which includes two previously released fan-favorite songs “Tennessee Orange” and “I’m Not Pretty,”

Megan has been one of my favorite up and comers in Nashville for a little while now, and she recently landed her first Gold record for her current single and aforementioned “Tennessee Orange.”

She has a really unique style of songwriting, and a beautiful, raspy voice with the perfect amount of twang that I absolutely love, and I’m definitely looking forward to hearing what she has to offer with her already-distinctive style of country in May.

But this one… this one makes me even more excited because there ain’t nothin better than a good old fashioned, honky tonk heater:
