Kelly Clarkson Absolutely Nails Cover Of Hank Williams Jr.’s Classic, “Family Tradition”

Kelly Clarkson country music

LAWD… there is absolutely Kelly Clarkson nothing can’t sing.

She’s nailed it time and again when it comes to country covers (and covers from every other genre as well) on the Kellyoke segment of her daytime talk show, and there’s another stellar one out today.

Kelly delivered a perfect, rousing rendition of Hank William’s Jr.’s 1982 classic hit, “Family Tradition,” and I simply can’t get enough…

The song was originally released in 1979 as the fourth and final single and title track from his album of the same name, and ultimately peaked at #4 on the Billboard U.S. Hot Country Songs later that same year.

Of course, it ultimately became one of Bocephus’ signature songs, and I don’t know if I’ve ever heard a better cover of it, honestly.

I don’t know if Kelly would ever really consider fully jumping into the genre in some capacity, even with some sort of covers project, but damn if she wouldn’t be absolutely incredible at it.

This is worth a couple minutes of your day, that’s for sure:

And another perfect one… her rendition of “Tennessee Whiskey”:
