Yep, I’ll be contemplating the next time I step foot into the water.
It truly is wild to think about what sits below the surface of the water, whether it’s freshwater or saltwater, and could be swimming around your leg at any moment without realizing it.
And after taking one glance at this thing?
It has me even more concerned, because this fish looks like the spawn of Satan itself.
A picture of a dead “mystery” fish found in Florida has several people puzzled.
According to the Lexington Herald-Leader, kayaker Tammy Jenkins of Kissimmee, Florida was the one who discovered this terrifying looking creature, and took a number of photos of it while kayaking along the Ocklawaha River in Putnam County, just east of Gainesville.
She admitted at first that she questioned if it was even real:
“It got my attention because it was ugly as dirt and looked like it came straight from hell. At first glance, I thought it was a joke toy until I smelled it.”
Jenkins said the smell of it was sickening.
She continued:
“I decided to share (the photos) on Facebook to get others’ input. I take thousands of photos when we go out but I hardly ever share them.”
Some commenters to the post said it looked like a misplaced Halloween decoration, with others saying it was 100% real.
One commenter even said:
“Anything with that much teeth I don’t think I’d classify as a fish.”
Among the majority comments, it’s believed that this creature is either a bowfin (also known as a mudfish), or a snakehead.
Jenkins gave her best guess as well.
“I always thought it was a gator gar but now I’m not so sure.”
Whatever the hell this thing is, I hope I never see one up close and personal.
