Cody Johnson Releases Electric Live Version Of “Me And My Kind”

Cody Johnson country music

It’s no secret that Cody Johnson has been killing the mainstream country music scene here lately.

The Texas native made the jump to the mainstream in 2018, signing a record deal with Warner Music Nashville, and he hasn’t looked back since. His songs “‘Til You Can’t” and “Human” from his 2021 Human The Double Album have been massive successes, and he’s not close to being done.

The man is winning CMA Awards, getting nominated for Grammy Awards… it’s been a LONG time coming and it’s incredible to see Cody’s ship finally come in.

However, perhaps the best part about CoJo is his electric live shows.

CoJo is still to this day one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to, and he’s an absolute must-see if you haven’t gotten the chance yet.

And speaking of his live shows, the man is working on a live album, set to drop next month, and he just released a live version of his hit song, “Me and My Kind.”

“Me and My Kind” is one of his OG hits, dating back to his 2014 Cowboy Like Me album, and is a fan favorite at his concerts.

I mean c’mon, the song has one of the best lines in modern day country music:

“To her you’re just a heartache in a Wrangler pearl snap shirt”

In this live recording, you can tell how fired up the crowd gets as soon as that first guitar riff kicks off.

Give it a listen:
